Do you want to be a productivity warrior in 2025?
Many workplace habits add little value yet persist—endless meetings, overflowing inboxes, and excessive MIS reports, to name a few. In some way, we all contribute to these inefficiencies.
Perhaps the key to change lies in refocusing and adopting new habits. Here are three simple but impactful ways to do so:
- Champion One Business Initiative: Let’s take ownership of one customer or business challenge beyond our core job responsibilities. The goal is to create tangible value.
For example:
- A production executive could train customers on proper product usage.
- A sales executive might provide market insights to the planning team.
- A CXO could mentor new employees to instil company values.
Opportunities are endless—limited only by imagination and initiative. My personal initiative? I’ve committed a few hours each week to assist our marketing team. It’s already proving to be a win-win!
- Master One Skill for Growth: Learning never stops. Enhancing a technical, functional, or soft skill can improve individual and team performance.
It could be:
- Exploring a new technology
- Implementing industry best practices
- Strengthening leadership or communication skills, or anything worthwhile that attracts you…
For added accountability, one may consider formally integrating such skill development into KRAs also.
For me, AI and Analytics are exciting fields that align with my work. My current focus is on integrating them effectively into my solutions.
- Give Back in One Meaningful Way: Contributing to society—beyond professional duties—creates transformative impact, both for others and ourselves.
Giving can be:
- Time (volunteering)
- Effort (mentorship, community service)
- Resources (financial contributions)
Take inspiration from citizen-led initiatives, like the volunteers who cleaned Mumbai’s beaches, sparking a nationwide movement.
My contribution? I’ve joined efforts to establish an educational fund for meritorious students in my ancestral village.
These are my New Year thoughts, and I’d love to hear yours! If you’re also adopting new habits for 2025, let’s connect at connect@bizproworld.com.
Wishing you a successful and fulfilling year ahead!
